The Early Learning Centre (ELC) is located in the Abbotsford Convent Precinct.
Content Studio was invited to participate in a project run by Regional Arts Victoria. The objective of the program was to introduce kindergarten students to environmentally sustainable design. Over an eight week period, Content Studio worked with teachers, students, and an artist to design an eco cubby. We ran activities for the children based around simple design principles, documenting the children’s response to the task which fed into the design.
After the Eco Cubby was designed, the broader ELC community were involved in the construction, including making mud bricks and sourcing second-hand materials. Fifteen years since its construction, the eco cubby is still a fixture in the playground.
