Our second renewal project for Yarra Plenty Regional Libraries. Diamond Valley Library was built in the 1990’s to the library practice of its time. Our design for the project reflects the broadening role of libraries in the community. We refined the lending library component by adding curatorial shelving to create a ‘best of’ section. Content designed work spaces for use by local residents looking for co-working space, students, and community groups. This included meeting pods, secluded work desks, and quiet reading areas. Other aspects included creating an event space, and outdoor terrace connecting the library to the community garden.
