The Kew Traffic School provides a safe environment for children to learn road safety for over 40 years. The school offers children the chance to gain confidence and skills on their bikes, tricycles or scooters in a fun setting, away from the normal dangers on our roads.
We were briefed to renew the facilities so they better serviced the users of the centre: organized school groups, informal play sessions run by council, and private children’s parties.
We designed a new community space, an entry and storage facility as part of a renewal of site. In collaboration with Ochre Landscapes, we developed a masterplan to support the expansion of education and experiential programs in future stages. We also worked with Mono Design to develop a visual identity for the site, which was then integrated into the building design.
